The crime branch of Mumbai police claimed to have found call records that indicate the two models had spoken and exchanged messages with Vindoo and Gurunath in the past. Police sources, however, said nothing in connection with betting or spot fixing has emerged from the models’ conduct so far. “In case we find they were linked to the racket, the possibility of their arrest cannot be ruled out,” said a highly placed source.

Sources said the two models were being questioned over the past two days to find out if they were linked to the betting syndicate allegedly being run by Vindoo, police said. “One of the models has told us she has gone to Chennai thrice while the other claimed to have gone there once. However, there is nothing so far that links them to the spot-fixing racket,” said a senior official.
