Moderate earthquake hits Great Nicobar

The quake measuring 5.5 was epicentred off the south coast of Great Nicobar between 6.2 degree N latitude and 93.8 E longitude on Sunday.

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale rattled the Great Nicobar region on Sunday, the Met Department said.

The quake which was felt at 1014 hours was epicentred off the south coast of Great Nicobar between 6.2 degree North latitude and 93.8 East longitude, it said.
