"Indo-Pak dialogue is a healthy political development and Hurriyat in search of a solution to Kashmir issue will keep in mind the sentiments and sacrifices in all circumstances and act accordingly to protect the honour of Kashmiris," a statement issued after a meeting of the amalgam chaired by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said in Srinagar.

"The dream of peace and prosperity in the region cannot be realised unless the Kashmir issue is resolved," it said.

Describing the arrest of several top separatist leaders under public safety act as "absurd and uncalled for", the statement said Hurriyat has decided to take legal action and approach international human rights organisations to expose the "undemocratic" attitude of the government.
