Moderate intensity quake in Great Nicobar

The tremor, measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, was felt at 12.15 am and was epincentered off East of Great Nicobar Islands.

A moderate intensity aftershock on Thursday jolted the Great Nicobar Island, the Meteorological Department has said.

The tremor, measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, was felt at 12.15 am and was epincentered off East of Great Nicobar Islands, a department release said on Thursday.

The epicentre of the quake was at 6.9 degrees North Latitude and 96.1 degrees East Longitude, it added.
