An earthquake of moderate intensity shook Srinagar and adjoining areas on Friday morning, official sources said.

Residents rushed out of their homes and offices as doors and windows rattled under the impact of the tremor which struck at around 10.30 am.

There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, they said.
