A moderate intensity earthquake, measuring 5.2 on Richter Scale, shook Sumatra islands of Indonesia late on Saturday night, the Met Office said.

The temblor, off the West Coast of northern Sumatra, struck at 22:39 IST yesterday and was epicentred at a latitude of 2.5 degree North and longitude 96.5 degree East, it said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualty.
