Modi’s charisma
The landslide victory of the BJP in Gujarat for the fourth time in a row is a shot in its arm, with Lok Sabha elections not far off if the Left chooses to remain inflexible on the nuclear deal. Campaign leaders must realise that they should never risk losing majority votes by coining new phrases like “Hindu terrorism”. With this victory, Narendra Modi has added many more feathers to his cap and is sure to dominate the national scene.

The people of Gujarat have spoken at the ballot box and given Narendra Modi a third term in office. Despite the chips being stacked against him, Modi fought and won at the polls and even his worst critics cannot wish away the voice of the people. In fact, the state has made remarkable progress in all areas under Modi. The security machinery has proved effective, and law and order in the state is one of the best in the country. The country needs leaders like Modi who are forward-looking and not like the Leftists who are nothing but a case of the tail wagging the dog.

Narendra Modi’s hat-trick is an achievement of the highest stature, considering his own men too were trying for his ouster. He delivered in terms of development for the state, and the people believed in being a part of this development and in his leadership. Congratulations to Modi and to the people of Gujarat too.
