Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is recording short speeches for YouTube to keep in touch with voters across the country.

According to Shashiranjan Yadav of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi records the speeches at his residence in between his campaign tours.

"The speeches last for a maximum of three minutes. They are uploaded by us on YouTube," Yadav, chief of BJP's IT team in Gujarat, said. "The basic idea is to reach a larger audience."
