Modi uses money for growth, his critics keep it for themselves

With reference to Ashok Malik’s article Modi operandi (December 15), it seems Modi-bashing has become a trend in Indian politics. When the Special Investigative Team (SIT) to probe the Gujarat riots was constituted, nobody questioned its intentions. But it was called a ‘kangaroo court’ when the probe team’s views on certain issues were not to the liking of some people. How many more courts do we need to exonerate Modi? I have visited Gujarat several times and have seen that the common people associate Modi only with development and nothing else. The only people who find him communal are the so-called secularists. I will always vote for a man who creates jobs, improves infrastructure and provides education to the people. To hell with a secular banner that makes money by selling spectrum, capturing flats meant for war widows and is not even ashamed about such illegal activities.

The UPA’s sanctimonious attitude towards Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi is shocking. They do not recognise his role in busting the Indian Mujahideen network because of their narrow political views. Despite the SIT’s clearance, the Gujarat chief minister is routinely attacked by all political parties. This witch-hunt must stop.

We’re starved of imagination

With reference to the editorial Eating into our growth plan (Our Take, December 14), it was shocking to learn that our children are dying due to hunger and malnutrition in cities. We need a national movement against malnutrition. Otherwise, we will lose this race against time and this could prove costly in the future.
