The story was blown out of proportion.
There is absolutely nothing abnormal about this incident. Just because some photographer clicked a few snaps does not make this a hard to believe incident. If you go to any rock show or any event where there are huge gatherings such incidents are bound to happen, be it Mumbai, or any other city in the world.
If on a December 31 night one was to go out with his girlfriend or wife to a place where there is bound to be a huge crowd, most of them lower middle class gathering, what do you expect? If anyone needs to be blamed it is that guy who took that poor woman to such a place.
There is nothing extraordinary about that incident that Mumbai should be ashamed off. Ask that photographer to go and click pictures in any show where there are such gatherings and he will make himself famous with more such pictures.
By trying to nail those offenders they are only trying to ruin their lives for teenage pranks that almost all young people will indulge if given an opportunity comes there way.
