Monica case: Portugal copy sought

FORMER BOLLYWOOD actor and don Abu Salem’s companion Monica Bedi’s local lawyer P C Vedi on Saturday prayed the court of judicial magistrate Dinesh Kumar Dangi to provide him a copy of undertaking given by the Government of India to the Portuguese Government for deportation of her client.

Arguments on the application will take place on November 2. The prosecution in a separate application prayed the court not to list the case for hearing on October 30 and 31 in the wake of Vice President Bhairon Singh Sikhawat’s visit to Bhopal.

The court while allowing the application fixed the case for hearing on November 2. The revision petition moved in the court of district & sessions judge Renu Sharma for quashing the charges framed against Monica will come up for hearing on October 30.

Prosecution witness Sub Inspector Devendra Shukla was examined in the court on Saturday in the presence of Monica Bedi. He had prepared panchnama in the case. The prosecution did not press for examining the other witness, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) employee Arjun Belani, listed for deposition in the court on Friday.
