Monsoon expected to hit Kerala by May 30

In what would be some much needed good news for the entire nation, the annual monsoon is expected to hit the state of Kerala early next week, the weatherman said Thursday.

Monsoon is expected to hit the state of Kerala early next week, the weatherman said Thursday.

“Conditions are becoming favourable for onset of monsoon over Kerala in the next three or four days,” an official statement from the India Meteorological Department said.

Factors like minimum temperature over northwest India, pre-monsoon rainfalls, pressure, temperature and wind conditions over South China Sea and southeast Indian Ocean, along with upper air circulation in South East Asia region and south-west Pacific are monitored for the prediction of monsoon.

The Met department has forecast onset of monsoon around May 30.
