Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya is confident of a strong performance on his return from injury after being cleared to continue following a heavy crash on the opening day of the Spanish Grand Prix on Friday.

Montoya had to be taken for a check-up after crashing his McLaren at high speed in the closing seconds of the second hour-long practice session here at the Circuit de Catalunya.
But after being given the all-clear Montoya, who joined McLaren at the end of last season, said: "It was nice to be back at the wheel of the car but the first time I have a shunt whilst driving for this team had to happen today.
"I'm sorry for the guys who have to repair the damage overnight. I don't know what happened but I just lost it. I went to see the FIA Medical Delegate afterwards and he said I was absolutely fine."
Montoya missed the last two races after injuring his shoulder in a tennis accident and he had to pass a test in the team's factory-based simulator before being allowed to return to the cockpit this weekend.
His visit to the medical centre on Friday afternoon was his second of the day, after he took a check-up on his shoulder before begin given final clearance to compete earlier in the morning.

McLaren looked strong in practice, with test driver Pedro de la Rosa, of Spain, topping both sessions and declaring confidence that there is more performance to come from the car this weekend.
