“Morning is a time for self-introspection and if you are enveloped by music at this hour, a calm serenity will engulf you,” Gokulotsavji told the Hindustan Times.

Listening to good and blissful music in the morning has a positive effect on health and spruces the mind, he said adding, “Singing or hearing music at this time of the day is like offering prayers to God. It has a vital role in keeping all depressive factors at bay.”

He enumerated that the main morning raagas that were commonly sung were Bhairav, Gujri Todi, Lalit and Charu Keshi. Gokulotsavji who has performed around the world, has acquired great reputation for his knowledge of music and performance skills. A recipient of many awards he has several of his own compositions under the pen name ‘Madhur Piya’.
