The notices were issued by a bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice SC Sinho after taking cognisance of the PIL filed by one Satish Verma, who termed the strike call as unconstitutional and a violation of people's fundamental rights.
The day-long bandh called by the BJP and other parties protesting against the hike in petroleum prices was near total and largely peaceful in the state barring a few incidents when protesters forcibly tried to stop a couple of trains.
