Police claim to have arrested the main accused in the murder case of Bajrang Dal co-convener and his domestic help.
With the arrest of Hyder Sherani on Friday evening, all the six accused have been nabbed, Ratlam superintendent of police Ashish said.
Hyder is the nephew of Congress corporator Yasmin Sherani, who was attacked by some unidentified persons on September 27, just two hours before Bajrang Dal worker Kapil Rathod and his domestic help Pukhraj was shot dead.
Police had earlier said that the firing and murder cases were linked with another incident that took place on September 12 which resulted in enmity between Kapil and Hyder.
The accused took advantage of the situation on September 27 soon after Yasmin was attacked in front of Ratlam Municipal Corporation office. SP Ashish said Hyder was arrested by Ratlam police from the outskirts of the town.
Five co-accused in the crime — Musaif Khan (24), Nasir Ali (26), Yahya Khan (29), Zahid Hussain (26) and Asif alias Musa (26) — are in police custody. The police said they have not got any information about the attack on Yasmin.
