In order to ensure swift action on any report of crime, Madhya Pradesh police is soon going to launch a state-level integrated police control room 'Dial 100 emergency service'.

According to sources, a total of Rs 252 crore has been sanctioned by the state to set up an integrated emergency service call centre and the process has begun. The department has invited tenders for necessary equipment and purchasing of vehicles. Scrutiny of tender application is on.

Additional director general of police (ADG), Communication, Anvesh Manglam told HT that the proposed integrated and modernised control room would be set up in the state capital. "The aim to set up integrated control room is to ensure quick response to any information related to crime or law and order situation. We shall ensure quality service to people. The police team will reach within five minute or as soon as possible after receiving information," he said.

As soon as ‘Dial 100 emergency service’ is informed about any incident, the police would rush to the spot using reserved vehicles.

The department would use Rs 210 crore out of sanctioned Rs 252 crore for purchasing sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for response teams. The SUVs would be equipped with mobile data tracker and GPS system. "The response teams would be formed in every district till the police station level and they would be provided SUVs," Manglam said.
