MPCON wind energy business meet today

MPCON executive vice-president Anil Mangrulkar told reporters here on Wednesday that Malwa was the only region in Madhya Pradesh that had gets a constant flow of winds from Rajasthan. Magrulkar said these winds create a pressure that has potential to generate power, but only 0.6 per cent of it has been used by now to produce 80 mw power. This power can reduce the gap in demand and supply of electricity caused due to rapid industrialisation.

Pithampur Audyogik Sangathan president Dr Gautam Kothari said that the meet would be a platform for entrepreneurs to know the details of setting up wind farms or wind mills. The suppliers of machinery needed to set up wind farm, power equipment suppliers, financers, bankers and technical support team would be present in this meet.

According to Dr Kothari, more emphasis in this seminar would be on commercial use of wind energy. Madhya Pradesh Finance Corporation managing director Smita Ghate Chandra will inaugurate the seminar and Dr Kothari will preside over the programme.

Mangrulkar will deliver the welcome address and present some facts on wind energy and its current utilisation in the state.

Former MPEB chairman P L Nene, Ashok Dutta from Suzlon Energy, Madhu Kumar from Vestas India, Union Bank of India Assistant General Manager Elias and IREDA manager Dr Abhilak Singh would be present on the occasion.
