MPs lambast Air India brass, sparks fly

The first meeting of the consultative committee of civil aviation witnessed fireworks as more than 20 members of Parliament (MP) flayed the Air India (AI) management for its handling of affairs at the national carrier. HT reports.

The first meeting of the consultative committee of civil aviation witnessed fireworks as more than 20 members of Parliament (MP) flayed the Air India (AI) management for its handling of affairs at the national carrier.

Holding chairman and managing director Arvind Jadhav responsible for the prevailing mess, the members pointed out that while Jadhav kept blaming his predecessors for the mess, there has been a major jump in losses under him in the last two years. Never before did AI ever default on payment of salaries and payments to vendors and oil companies, the MPs said.
