BHARTIYA JANSHAKTI president Uma Bharti on Saturday claimed that one of her loyal Lok Sabha members in BJP from Madhya Pradesh might vacate the seat for her within three months.
In fact, two MPs had offered to resign from the Lok Sabha membership four months ago to enable her to contest and they still stood by their offer, Uma further claimed while talking to newspersons at her bungalow here. “If I disclose the names they would land in trouble. Even their relatives could be implicated under false charges,” she said.
However, she hinted that one MP hailed from Malwa-Nimad region and represents a general category seat. According to Uma the main reason behind her not contesting from Bada Malehara or Vidisha is that she did not want to annoy people of either constituency by deciding to contest the by-poll from one.
The by-polls, she said are not a prestige issue for her, as her party was floated just four months ago, she said, adding, but the BJP leaders were scared. She said this could be gauged from the fact that the party selected a candidate in Bada Malehra, who until getting the party ticket was the biggest critic of Jansangh and BJP.
