Talking to Hindustan Times over the phone, Samiti convener Vinay Pandey said that if there were any intervention on the part of district administration during indefinite fast, the officers and employees would proceed on lightning strike. He added that in this connection notice would be served on MPSEB secretary P K Vaishya tomorrow.

The maiden meeting between the three-member committee constituted by the Board and MP Vidyut Karmachari Sangh Federation regarding wage revision would be held tomorrow, hence the decision to defer the agitation and strike, said the convener.

Pandey asserted that the Board staff wants that the wage revision report submitted by retired Justice Verma should be implemented in true spirit. He said that the agitation and strike had been deferred since the High Court in its verdict of February 24 had quashed the order of State Government through which it had terminated the recognition of MP Vidyut Karmachari Sangh Federation. With this ruling of the High Court, recognition of the Karmachari Sangh Federation had been restored.

He revealed that with this new development now it has become mandatory on the part of Board administration to have agreement with the Karmachari Sangh Federation for class III and IV employees
