Even as the income from mobile operations zoomed by over 125 per cent, state-owned MTNL on Monday reported a 33 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 127 crore in third quarter of this fiscal mainly due to lower Access Deficit Charge.

According to un-audited financial results, total income of MTNL stood at Rs 1,362 crore in third quarter, compared to Rs 1,389.4 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

MTNL has also announced an interim dividend of 30 per cent for the current fiscal.

Claiming that its cellular subscriber base was over 55 lakh, MTNL said income from its mobile operations during the period under consideration had increased to Rs 153.4 crore from Rs 68.2 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
