"The Centre is discriminating against Uttar Pradesh while it has been providing all help to Uttaranchal, which till recently was part of the state," Yadav said addressing a meeting.

"We are raising our voice against such treatment for the interests of people and there is nothing personal about it," he said.

Attacking the alleged anti-farmers policies of the Centre, he claimed that it was bent upon destroying the farmers.

The Chief Minister questioned the need to import wheat, saying that it was available in the country in vast quantity.
