Addressing a party workers’ meeting at his residence here recently, Dr Joshi said Mulayam Singh Yadav should resign from the CM’s post on moral grounds, adding there was also need to intensify the struggle against the State government.

The people no longer trusted Mulayam Singh Yadav and his party and wanted to change the government. “Even the UPA government at the Centre has adopted anti-people and anti-farmer policies. The farmers are on the verge of starvation due to foreign investment in the agriculture sector,” he added.

Dr Joshi said education had also become very expensive and in the coming days it would be affordable for only the rich students. In this situation, only the BJP could provide a stable and pro-people government, he said.

Also present at the meeting were district president Narendra Dev Pandey, ex state secretary Devendra Singh Chauhan and ex district president Srinath Dwivedi.
