STATE PRESIDENT of the Congress party Salman Khurshid lambasted the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and his ministers for passing adverse comments on the Governor TV Rajeswar.

Khurshid, along with the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Pramod Tiwari, was in the city to meet Congress leaders lodged in the jail. Talking to newsmen on the occasion, Khurshid vented his ire at the State Government in general and the CM in particular for passing remarks on Raj Bhawan and the Governor TV Rajeswar.

“The CM and his ministers have stooped so low that they are now issuing statements brazenly against the Governor,” said Khurshid.

Replying to a query related to cane-charge on Congress workers in the State Capital, Khursheed said that it was typical of the SP government to behave in such a manner during fag end of its rule.

“During its previous tenures also, the then SP governments had behaved in such a manner shattering all norms of democracy,” elaborated Khursheed.

The State Congress president also said that the party’s ongoing ‘jail bharo andolan’ in the State was just a beginning of agitations against the State Government.

Speaking on the occasion, the Congress Legislative Party leader Pramod Tiwari warning the bureaucrats, advised them to act without any prejudice.

“All such officials of the district administration acting as an agent of the State Government will be taken to task by the Congress party when it comes to power,” said Tiwari. He also demanded the dismissal of the Mulayam-led State Government and imposition of President’s rule in the State.

“Elections in the State must be conducted by deploying Central forces on the pattern of Bihar,” demanded Tiwari.

Replying to a query, he said that the Mulayam-led State Government could not trusted and the coming Vidhan Sabha elections must be conducted only after the deployment of paramilitary forces in the State.

Advocating early elections in the State, Tiwari said that the Congress was prepared for elections. Earlier, both the Congress leaders met four party leaders including district president Mahesh Dixit, party MLA Sanjeev Dariabadi, Iqbal Ahmad and Naseem Siddiqui in jail.
