Mulayam: Using NSA was wrong

Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said that booking Varun Gandhi under the National Security Act (NSA) was wrong, reports HT Correspondent.

Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said that booking Varun Gandhi under the National Security Act (NSA) was wrong. “My fears that the Act could be misused for political purposes have come true,” he added.

“What national security threat did Varun pose? None,” said Yadav, who himself was served an Election Commission notice on Monday, but in the same breath added both BSP and BJP are working hand in glove. “The entire drama was deliberate. BSP wanted BJP to score some points. Why else didn’t the state government stop Varun earlier,” he said.
