A three-day cultural extravaganza celebrating ethnic diversity and showcasing the arts, crafts, cuisine, costumes from countries around the world, including India, was held in this Canadian city.

Carassauga, the annual festival of cultures, celebrated its 20th anniversary during May 24-26. The 22 colourful pavilions offered people a chance to familiarise themselves with cultures from different parts of the world.
The India pavilion presented several attractions for visitors like music and dance forms from the various states, artefacts and handicrafts, costumes and jewellery.
Food lovers tucked into Indian culinary delights such as tandoori, non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes, and different types of sweets from across the country.
"More than 100,000 people visited the pavilions during the three days," Ashwani Gera, one of the main organisers, told IANS.
"Carassauga has been Mississauga's foremost cultural event ... it is an excellent example of how the many cultural groups in Mississauga co-exist peacefully, helping us to strengthen relationships and better understand our friends and neighbours," Mayor Hazel McCallion said in a message.
Mississauga, Canada's sixth largest city, is located just west of Toronto in the province of Ontario. Mississauga has a large immigrant population including South Asians.
