"I'm merely taking a break following marriage and motherhood," she says, and promises to be back on screen early this year.

For starters, there's Tanuja Chandra's Hope and a Little Sugar.

"It's based on the life of Asians in the US post-9/11. I play a Sikh widow who is victimised during the crisis," she says. The film also features Anupam Kher and Vikram Chatwal.

Gumnam, opposite Dino Morea, that has been on hold for long, will also be released soon. Chaudhry and Morea play a struggling actress and stuntman respectively who get into a con act.

Home sweet home
Married to architect Bobby Mukherjee, Chaudhry is now the mother of six-month-old Aryana. She admits that being a mother "is not easy" and she doesn't intend to take on too much work right now. Doesn't that sound like another Subhash Ghai find-turned-homemaker, Madhuri Dixit?

"Madhuri made a comeback recently. I am also waiting for the right opportunity," says the actress.
