“This initiative will help us bring the university research department under the international union, thereby enhancing its standards by attaining world-wide recognition,” said Rajpal Hande, director, Board of Colleges and University Development. “The motive behind this alliance is to also let students understand the importance of research. It will help them gain global exposure at a young age and also, help them seek better opportunities in the international market.”

The subject of diaspora and migration comes under the faculty of humanities and social sciences. However, for the international project, research will be conducted at an inter-disciplinary level across the five universities. The research will not only concentrate on the theoretical aspects of the subject, but will also include practical applications to understand the different characteristics of migration.
