The local branch has arrested a murder accused, who was absconding for nine years, police said on Thursday.

The accused Rajesh Parmar had allegedly killed one Ashok Kumar Mishra on April 3, 2001 and was reportedly absconding since then, they said.

The crime branch sleuths were on a routine patrolling when they came across Parmar, who was moving freely in Kapsi village, they said.

Parmar was arrested yesterday, police added.
