Murder accused caught after 7 years

AN ACCUSED, involved in the Atul Tiwari murder case, which had occurred seven years ago in the Shankarganj area, was caught by the Malharganj police yesterday.

AN ACCUSED, involved in the Atul Tiwari murder case, which had occurred seven years ago in the Shankarganj area, was caught by the Malharganj police yesterday.

The accused, Kalu alias Rakesh, a resident of Malharganj, came to Indore from Ahmedabad where he had been staying all these years. He was forced to come to the Indore due to floods in Ahmedabad, where he had been working in a hotel.

In all six persons had been accused in Tiwari’s murder. Of them three were given life terms, two were acquitted while Kalu was absconding. Police had been receiving information that Kalu had returned home and last night they surrounded his house and nabbed him the moment he came there.

Kalu told police that he had been absconding all these years, as he feared that the police would kill him in an encounter. Police feel that Kalu might be able to shed some light on some other unsolved cases

Sandalwood tree stolen
A SANDALWOOD tree has been stolen from the fire station situated at Gandhi Hall. The tree was around 15 years old. The M G Road police have registered a case.

Kidnappers still free
IT HAS been one year since Nitesh Nagori was kidnapped for ransom, and then successfully rescued from the clutches of the kidnappers from Guna by Indore police. However, even today, the main accused in the case Ismail and their boss Aftab Alam, who operates from Dubai, and Randhwa and Ibrahim are still absconding.

Warrants have been issued against all the accused, and a copy of warrant against Aftab has also been sent to the Interpol. Local police believe that Ismail, who reportedly fled to Mumbai after the incident, is still in India as he failed to go abroad, and efforts are on to nab him with the help of Delhi police.

Police had arrested six persons, including two of Nitesh’s friend Dhruv Maheshwari and Gaurav Shivhare, in this connection.

Cops for Gwalior
A POLICE team has been sent to Gwalior in connection with the recovery of a Tavera car by Chhoti Gwaltoli police from a dealer who had been given this car by a couple to sell it off. The couple is absconding but the mobile phone they used was purchased in Gwalior. The mobile phone has also been switched off after the car was recovered by police.
