Five persons - Tikku, Ritesh, Anthony, Sudhir and another accused of Bhopal - came to Anand’s house at night, pushed his wife and mother out of the house and killed him brutally and then fled. All of them are absconding after the murder.

Police said that Anand himself was involved in a murder case, but had been acquitted, while there were a number of cases against Tikku and Sudhir. The latter, a resident of Bhopal, has been externed from the district.

Police sources said the main reason behind the murder appears to be an incident that occurred a few days back when Anand had got Tikku thrashed in another area.

Tikku and his accomplices killed Anand as revenge. Two other causes are also being touted as being a reason behind the murder – one of them that Anand had given Rs 500 as loan to Tikku and they had a dispute over returning the money.
The other reason appears to be a dispute between Tikku and Anand’s brother-in-law after the latter’s dog pooped in the colony while being taken out for a walk.
