Demanding a judicial inquiry into the arrest of Maulana Waliullah and Rs 10 lakh each for victims of the Aligarh riots, these organisations said that they would chalk out their future course of action at a meeting to be held in Aligarh on April 15. They alleged that the cleric was arrested in full public view by police in Phulpur on March 26. The STF, however, claimed to have picked him up from Rae Bareli on April 5. “Henceforth, we have decided to work in unison for the resolution of the community’s problems and also to provide them with necessary infrastructure to fight injustice being meted out to them,” said a joint statement issued by the National Lok Tantrik Party, All India Muslim Majlis, All India Muslim Forum, Indian National League, Parcham Party of India, Momin Conference and Khaksar Tahrik Al-Hind.
