ALLEGING THAT only Muslims bore the brunt of communal riot in Biaora on January 31, the Rashtriya Secular Manch has demanded immediate arrest of the hooligans responsible for the vandalism.
Sharing with newspersons the report of an all-party team that visited the troubled spot, Manch conveyor L S Hardenia and others said here on Friday that the rioters burnt 28 Muslim shops and caused damage to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore.
The hooligans also set afire house of a poor Muslim family that lived opposite BJP MLA Badrilal Yadav.
Entire assets of the family including 10 gm gold and clothes that had been collected to marry off three daughters gutted in the fire, the probe report said.
According to the report the victims accused Bajrang Dal, VHP and Shiv Sena workers of indulging in the loot and arson.
They said that communal harmony is being deliberately vitiated in the area by distributing pamphlets containing highly inflammatory slogans.
It was also alleged that anti-social elements often throw stones and burning sticks at mosques.
