My husband is innocent: Gagandeep's wife

"If my husband would have been guilty, why would the family rush the maid to the hospital," said Harpreet.

Harpreet, wife of Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Gagandeep Singh, arrested on the charge of raping his housemaid, on Saturday claimed that her husband is innocent.

"If my husband would have been guilty, why would have the family rushed the maid to the hospital," she told reporters in Chandigarh.

Denying reports that it was she who took the bleeding maid to the hospital, Harpreet said she had not even been allowed to meet the maid in the hospital.
