Mystery shrouds the murder of a doctor, Sanjay Singh (42) who was shot dead in his house-cum-clinic in Karehnda village under Kareli police station late last night. On its part neither the Kareli police nor any senior police officer was able to shed any light on the real motive behind this murder which has left residents of the area in a state of shock.

For the whole day on Wednesday the cops appeared too busy attending to the tragic incident in which the station officer of Ghurpur police station died in a road mishap on Tuesday night.
Though some persons point out loot as the cause behind this murder others pointed towards property dispute and the second marriage of the doctor as the cause behind this tragedy. However, with cops still not in a position to speak out their mind no opinion can be formed on mere conjecture.
Sources said, the doctor was shot dead by some intruders around 9.15 pm in his house/clinic in Karehnda. But the incident came to the knowledge of the police around 11.30 pm when the deceased's brother-in-law contacted them on phone from Allahpur. The doctor succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
Station Officer Kareli police station told HT Allahabad Live that the doctor's wife along with her two children and mother slipped out of the house on seeing her husband being shot by some persons who had first knocked at the doors in the night.
