"We shall not take this lying down. The government should immediately withdraw all the false cases foisted on the Dalit MLA," Chandrababu told reporters.

He said they will raise the issue with President President Patil and take up the "struggle" at the national level to "expose the nefarious plans of the Rajasekhara Reddy government".

The TDP had already taken up the issue with the state Governor, National Commission for SCs and the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC).

Meanwhile, State Home Minister P Sabita Reddy said the government would take further action against the TDP MLA after the Crime Investigation Department, which was conducting the investigation into the case, submitted its report.

Kovvuru deputy superintendent of police Venkatarami Reddy met SHRC chairman Justice B Subhashan Reddy in Hyderabad on Friday and submitted a report on the episode.

With other opposition parties standing by it on the issue, the TDP is gearing up to corner the government on the MLAs case in the budget session of state Assembly, scheduled to begin on July 24.
