In recent letters to ADGP Prisons KR Shyamsundar, she alleged that attempts were being made to poison her food and that she was also being assaulted.

In separate letters to him, she also alleged that her cell had not been cleaned for days and expressed fears of officials 'planting' something there to recover it, apparently hinting at the recovery of a mobile phone from her cell last month.

She had last month written to Shyamsundar, alleging that she was being harassed by prison authorities.

However, officials were not available to respond to her allegations.

On May 10, the government had informed the state assembly that she had made calls to foreign countries from the mobile, including to Sri Lanka and Britain.
