The 28-year-old has hit a purple patch this year claiming 30 wickets in six matches at an average of 18.86 and capped it off with a fine all-round performance to help North prevail over defending champions West in the Duleep Trophy semifinal.

He scored half centuries in both the innings and took five wickets in the first innings.

"I was getting good bounce here unlike the other bowlers. A lot of credit goes to Manoj Prabhakar (Delhi coach), who helped me on how to use my wrist," said Narwal, who is the fifth highest wicket-taker in Ranji Trophy this season.

"Both Prabhakar sir and Sanjeev Sharma have given me a lot of confidence," he told HT.

Narwal, who moved to Delhi in 2007 after failing to get into the Haryana Ranji team, has also made contributions to the team's cause down the order.
