THE TEAM of Formidable Delhi lifted the prestigious Mohan Sikka trophy played in the 48th National Bridge Tournament on the concluding ceremony at Tatya Tope Stadium here on Wednesday.
After registering second position in the Ashok Ruia Trophy that was concluded recently, the team of Formidable Delhi played brilliantly in the Mohan Sikka trophy.
The team that included renowned player Kiran Nadar demonstrated excellent skills. The other members of Formidable Delhi included B Satyanarayan, R Tewari, Subhash Gupta, Venkatraman and Sunit Choksi. Team of Mango Mumbai came second in the same event. The members of the team included Jeroo Mango, BN Parasrampuria, AB Chakraborty, Bhabesh Saha, Amal Kundu and Aurobindo Roy.
Kamlesh Gupta’s team that stood fourth in the Ashok Ruia Trophy stood third in the Mohan Sikka trophy. The Holkar Trophy witnessed close contests in which the team of Archie Sequeria and Flinton Lewis emerged victorious. Holkar Trophy is one of the prestigious trophies of the bridge tournament.
The team of S Roy and P Roy had to content with the second position. Puneet Gangal and Mahendra Singh team came third in the event.
Madhya Pradesh Election Commission Commissioner AV Singh, who was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, distributed prizes to the winners and congratulated them. MPSTDC managing director Ashwani Lohani, vice president Bridge Federation of India Yatish Chandra and others were present. Tata Indicom, MPSTDC, Indian Oil Corporation and Publicity Department supported the tournament.
