After a five-year exile in Saudi Arabia, former prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif arrived in London on Sunday. Speaking from London, Sharif accused Gen Musharraf of degrading Pakistan's reputation across the world.
He described the Musharraf government as a failed democracy, claiming the 'military dictator' has to "decide today whether Pakistan is going to be ruled by its people or by a few guards."
On his arrival at Heathrow by a Saudi Airlines flight SV 115, he was received by his brother Shahbaz Sharif, Secretary General PML-N Zafar Jhagra, Sartaj Aziz, Ghaus Ali Shah, PML-N UK President Zubair Gul, PML-N Overseas head Qaiser Mahmood Shah, Khwaja Mohammad Asif, Rana Noorul Hassan, Raja Asad Khan, and hundreds of his supporters.
Speaking to the media Sharif condemned the US air strike earlier this month that killed at least 13 civilians along the Pakistani-Afghan frontier.
Nawaz Sharif was accompanied by his wife Kalsoom Nawaz and daughter Maryam Safdar. According to Sharif's spokesman Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, the former Prime Minister will also return to Pakistan.
Sharif was prime minister from 1990 to 1993 and from 1997 until 1999 when Gen Musharraf's coup ousted him.
