While confirming the attack on the relief camp, a senior intelligence official at PHQ, Raipur, also informed that the Naxalites abducted at least ten people from the relief camp.

In another incident near the same village, a bus was blown up with a landmine blast triggered by extremists on Monday morning killing two on the spot and injuring 13 out of which the conditions of five was stated to be critical. The authorities fear that given the condition of the injured, the death toll could mount. The bus was proceeding from Jagdalpur to Bijapur.

The Naxalites targeted the villagers in the relief camp during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. The Maoist simultaneously opened indiscriminate firing on the CRPF post located near the relief camp.
