THE BHOPAL police deserves to be congratulated for busting the Naxalites’ sophisticated arms-manufacturing unit located in Satnami Nagar in Piplani in Bhopal and apprehending the six accused along with the a huge amount of cash, cache of arms and explosives and other equipment.
The recovery also shows the extent of Naxalite penetration and their network. If they could dare set up a workshop in the capital city of Bhopal, deductive logic will show that their cells are functioning elsewhere too. The Special Branch detective need to spread out to collect intelligence on them and the police hunt them out. Reports indicate that those caught in Bhopal are highly indoctrinated and have been quiet on their background and linkages.
The police have to break their resistance to open their mouths and make them sing. Interrogation experts with good background knowledge of Naxalite operations need to accomplish the difficult task. Special Branch units in other cities need to be alerted and public sensitised.
