NC, PDP and BJP win two seats each in the Upper House

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), BJP and National Conference have won two seats each in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative council election which was held on Monday.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), BJP and National Conference have won two seats each in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative council election which was held on Monday.

"Two members each from PDP, BJP and NC were declared winners in the MLC elections held today," Returning officer M Ramzan said.

He said while Charanjeet Singh and Vibod Gupta from BJP emerged as winners, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and Qaiser Jamshed Lone of National conference also won seats.

Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Javaid Ahmad from PDP won two seats.

"Elections were held for the seats that would fall vacant in the Upper House after six members would retire on March 9 and March 16," he said.

He said the elections were held Monday for two seats of Kashmir Province and four seats of Jammu Province.
