National Conferenceon Friday ruled out a tie-up with any party during or after the J-K Assembly elections saying the people of the state were "fed up with coalition politics.
"No alliance with any party during the elections or after it," NC President Omar Abdullah told reporters in Srinagar.
He, however, said it was up to the people to return a single party to the power in the state.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir are fed up with the coalition experience. I don't think they will return coalition government in the state again", he said.
He strongly refuted allegation that NC was power hungry and jumped into the elections when most of the parties were against holding polls in the present scenario.
"Had my party power hungry we would have not quit in 1990. NC was the largest single party after 2002 elections but we preferred to remain in opposition rather than seeking support from other party or individuals to form the government. We did not even stake claim for formation of the government that time".
Omar said NC was also opposed to the holding of elections in the state but once the polls were announced it could not remain away from the democratic exercise.
