The people-friendly governance of chief minister Omar Abdullah will pay and the National Conference will emerge as the single largest party in the next assembly elections, said additional general secretary of the party Mustafa Kamal and provincial president Devender Singh Rana.
They were addressing a function to mark the 13th death anniversary of Akbar Jahan, grandmother of Omar. Kamal said a strong and stable NC was a guarantee to satiate political, economic and developmental aspirations of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Kamal recalled the contribution of Akbar Jahan in upliftment of people, especially women and weaker sections of the society and said that her role in female literacy, empowerment of women, welfare of Gujjars, Bakerwals, SC/ST communities would be remembered for all times to come.
