NCC CADETS interacted with the inmates of an orphanage here as part of its efforts to imbibe a sense of responsibility towards the society.
The cadets of 89 UP Battalion of NCC in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and 28 Girls Battalion visited the orphanage at busy Lahurabir area on Thursday and organised a cultural event for the inmates.
“This was our first such initiative and in the coming days our cadets would be visiting all the orphanages in Varanasi and adjoining areas”, Lieutenant Col KK Singh, the commanding officer of 89 UP Battalion who led the cadets to Kashi Anathalaya (Orphanage) on Thursday said. He added, “More such interactions with the inmates of orphanages would follow’.
He said fruits and sweets were also distributed among the orphan kids at Kashi Orphanage.
Lt Col Singh said that the main objective behind this interactive session with the orphans was to understand their feelings and also to imbibe sense of duty among the NCC cadets towards the orphans in the society.
Kashi Orphanage is home to 17 girls of different age groups.
