The gadget will be used in all divisions of the NCR after making it functional in Allahabad division.

Talking to the HT Live, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Allahabad, Roopesh Srivastava said, "Till now, the railway examination staff had to face inconvenience in carrying out pit examination. They had to carry torch and a separate tool box in their hands."

Besides, dependence on natural light sometimes created problem for the employees in carrying out the examination.

The trolley has been designed in such a way that the examination staff will no longer have to depend on natural light while carrying out the examination. The trolley would provide light with the connection of coach terminal, said the Senior DME.

Not only this, the difficulty which the employees had to face while handling a separate tool box has also been removed as a tool tray will be attached to the trolley, where all the required tools will be kept.

The machine would be made functional within a few days, he said, adding that at present one such machine had been designed and once it proved to be a success the department would design more such gadgets.
