Nepal has sought international assistance worth $3.58 million to help provide immediate relief to victims of recent floods in the Himlayan Kingdom.

The appeal for assistance was made by the Nepalese Foreign Ministry during a meeting with representatives of foreign missions and international non-governmental organisations in Kathmandu on Monday.
The Ministry has asked the donors for the need of $1,400 each to 500 families in Achham for their rehabilitation.
"There is a need for $58 each to 1,000 families in Banke and Bardiya districts to provide temporary shelter and $7 per family per day to 10,500 families for one month to feed."
In Banke and Bardiya districts of mid-west Nepal, 6,600 and 5,000 houses have been affected due to floods and landslides triggered by incessant rain over the past few weeks.
At least three-dozen people were killed in Banke, Bardiya and Achham districts due to natural calamities.
The government has sent relief materials worth $35,000 in Banke, Bardia and Achham districts, according to Home Ministry sources.
According to the World Food Programme (WFP) $20 million worth food and other materials were needed in the flood and famine affected areas. The food situation has reached a critical stage in the districts of Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jumla and Bajura.
WFP's Nepal Representatives Richard Reagan said, there was a need for 6,520 tons of rice and 762 tons of wheat to 142,000 people in those six districts in coming four months.
