Subhas Chandra Bose's 110th birth anniversary was celebrated in West Bengal on Tuesday with unveiling of his portrait at the state secretariat by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and various cultural programmes.
The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Netaji after unveiling his portrait at the state secretariat Writers' Buildings for the first time in front of his office.
The corridor in front of the CM's office was so far occupied by a bust of Bidhan Chandra Roy, state's first chief minister, and portraits of Rabindra Nath Tagore and Desbandhu Chittaranjan Das.
Bhattacharjee later garlanded the statue of Netaji at the Esplanade area in front of Raj Bhavan along with several other leaders and eminent personalities.
